Baudrillard talks about acting-out: "Ridding yourself of your phantasies [sic] by having them pass into reality -- and yet, for all that, they do not actually become real: the 'acting-out' merely expresses the impossibility of the phantasy remaining a phantasy" [35]. So by putting up a homepage, regardless of where it lies in relation to the author, we are not so much creating a real identity, we are creating something, however, that because of it's substance, it's appearance of having a manifestation, of being real, it can no longer be considered just a fantasy either.
